Village Heat, Marriage Beats, and a Dash of Puja
Guys, a few days ago I came to my village, and honestly, I had no idea the weather would be this hot.
It’s been really tough to sleep, even just lying on the bed in the afternoon, it’s that hot. Even when I turn on the fan to cool things down, it barely helps. The house I’m staying in is just a single storey building with only one slab on top, so it heats up really fast.
And as if that wasn’t enough, there happens to be a marriage going on nearby. At first, I thought it was just some regular occasion, but nope, full wedding vibes. It’s kind of weird, because even in this scorching heat, they’re playing super loud music all day. Honestly, it feels exhausting, not festive.
To add to that, tomorrow there’s some kind of puja happening at a neighbour’s house, not exactly relatives, but the kind of people you can’t really say no to. I wasn’t really bound to help, but they asked, so I went over. Still, I couldn’t do much. I helped a little, ate something, and then came back home.
Overall, not the most pleasant experience, the heat, the noise, the unexpected work. But yeah, that’s how it’s been lately.
